Un restaurante lanza un \u201c2&#215;1\u201d, una cafeter\u00eda baja precios durante toda la semana o una tienda coloca carteles enormes de descuento en el escaparate. Durante unos d\u00edas el local parece otro. Hay movimiento, m\u00e1s personas entrando, m\u00e1s pedidos y m\u00e1s tickets saliendo de la caja. El due\u00f1o respira tranquilo porque siente que, por fin, las cosas est\u00e1n funcionando.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1756\" data-end=\"1789\">Pero luego llega el final de mes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1791\" data-end=\"1818\">Y aparece la gran pregunta.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1820\" data-end=\"1894\">\u201c\u00bfC\u00f3mo puede ser que haya vendido tanto\u2026 y aun as\u00ed quede tan poco dinero?\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1896\" data-end=\"2167\">Ah\u00ed es donde muchos negocios descubren algo importante: una promoci\u00f3n puede aumentar ventas y al mismo tiempo reducir beneficios. Y esto pasa porque much\u00edsimas promociones se hacen sin n\u00fameros, solo desde la intuici\u00f3n o el miedo a perder clientes frente a la competencia.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2169\" data-end=\"2272\">El problema no es hacer promociones. Una promoci\u00f3n rentable es aquella que, despu\u00e9s de todos los gastos, sigue dejando dinero real en la cuenta.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2535\" data-end=\"2593\">Parece obvio, pero muchos negocios nunca hacen esa cuenta.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2595\" data-end=\"2615\">Simplemente piensan:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2617\" data-end=\"2644\">\u201cSi vendo m\u00e1s, ganar\u00e9 m\u00e1s.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2646\" data-end=\"2670\">Y no siempre ocurre as\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2672\" data-end=\"2804\">Porque cuando bajas el precio, tambi\u00e9n bajas el margen. El costo variable del plato \u2014ingredientes, empaque y comisi\u00f3n de delivery\u2014 es de $7. Eso significa que el negocio gana $9 por cada plato vendido antes de pagar renta, n\u00f3mina y otros gastos fijos.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3812\" data-end=\"3857\">En una semana normal venden 25 platos al d\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3859\" data-end=\"3875\">La cuenta ser\u00eda:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3877\" data-end=\"3906\">25 platos \u00d7 $9 = $225 diarios<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3908\" data-end=\"3937\">Hasta aqu\u00ed todo parece claro.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3939\" data-end=\"4091\">Ahora el due\u00f1o decide lanzar una promoci\u00f3n para competir con otro restaurante cercano. Baja el precio del plato a $13 pensando que atraer\u00e1 m\u00e1s clientes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4093\" data-end=\"4121\">El nuevo margen ya no es $9.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4123\" data-end=\"4132\">Ahora es:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4134\" data-end=\"4147\">$13 \u2013 $7 = $6<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4149\" data-end=\"4196\">Gracias a la promoci\u00f3n vende 40 platos diarios.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4198\" data-end=\"4232\">Y aqu\u00ed viene la parte interesante.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4234\" data-end=\"4263\">40 platos \u00d7 $6 = $240 diarios<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4265\" data-end=\"4359\">La promoci\u00f3n s\u00ed funcion\u00f3. \u00bfPor qu\u00e9? Porque si siempre hay promociones, el precio normal pierde valor.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5794\" data-end=\"5823\">El cliente aprende a esperar.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5825\" data-end=\"5884\">\u201cNo compro hoy.
